Anyhow, being that we both suffer quite a lot with arthritis, we decided to get rid of the bikes and build a VW trike. I owned one back in the mid-80's and liked it pretty much. So we figured we'd trade the bikes off for the building of the frame, which we did. We got screwed in the deal but hell, he now has the "evil" starter to contend with. BTW, he lives off of Rt 301 near Fowler in Tampa and goes by the name, TrikerTroy. If you ever have contact with him and he offers to do any work for you, contact me and I'll explain how he makes deals and his crappy welding. Hell I'll even show you pictures of the welding. BTW, I got word from one of his ex-bosses that he had to let him go because his work was so shabby. Too bad I didn't know all this beforehand. Oh well, ya live and learn, huh?! A couple years ago I purchased a VW swing axle that was welded to a 1975 Honda CB1000 forks/frame with galvanized water pipe. Not very safe! So when "TrikerTroy" got it, he took off all the piping and created a new frame.) My boss, Bryant, assembled a 1600, dual port VW engine for us. such a fantastic little engine. Bryant did a wonderful job in creating it for us. We're proud to have his work included on the trike. Thanks boss!! That jerk, TrikerTroy, did all he could to sabotage both the engine AND the carb. Thanks to Bryant for his tutoring and our neighbors, Clint and Homer, for their knowledge and many hours they put in working on it, we now have a nice trike that runs great. Thanks to Terry Thomas for your reminding me that we can't always trust others. Especially after we learned what your REAL motive was in 'helping' us out. You're a looser Terry and we feel mighty sorry for you.!! (TrikerTroys name) Anyone who would like to know the full story, please write to me. We were fortunate enough to be able to have found a Springer front end attached to a chopper frame - THANKS JIM!! we had someone else cut the neck off and install it onto the trike for us. The man who did that happens to be the first person to have built a VW trike in Zephyrhills, FL. His name is George and he does wonderful work. Lucky for us he was able to 'fix' some of the other crappy welding TrikerTroy did on the frame. Not sure what we'll be naming her but heck, she's not
on the road yet anyhow. I've been tossing around names but nothing
seems to sound right just yet.
