IN HOPES THAT ONE DAY WE CAN
CHANGE THE INQUITY THAT HAS GONE
ON IN THIS COUNTRY THROUGHOUT IT'S HISTORY

WELCOME

I think it's of the utmost importance that each & every one of us get involved with the political process. This is the area they can take away our civil rights people. There's been too many years, too much pain & suffering gone by to allow those who are against us, win their battle in taking away our freedom to be who we are. It wasn't long ago, during my own childhood, that
lesbian & gay couples couldn't walk the streets as a 'couple'.
I did my part in changing that. For those who still bitch & cry
that we still can't in various parts of our country .... I say, get
off your duffs & do something about it!! Don't sit there waiting
for others to do your hard work for you. Too many have already sat
on the sidelines while most of us took the 'punishments' for demanding
the freedoms & rights we now have. Stop making excuses ---- "I
was married & I'm afraid for my family members" or
"I have my job to think about"
or "but I just came out of a heterosexual
marriage & I'm not sure about being all the way 'out' "
or "I don't want to 'rock the boat'
.......... Yeah, right!! Ahhhh but when you go to
a L/G/B/T parade & you're feeling safe to hold your lovers hand
in public, I want you to think very hard how it is that you CAN!!!
Stop sitting there in your little safe zone & get on out there
& make society change!! Without the numbers we aren't going to
get anywhere! If you've missed it, I have a few thoughts about those
of you older ones who love your 'freedoms' but who have never done
a damn thing to gain them. In my way of thinking, being lesbian/gay, isn't a 'part-time' - "lets play lesbian" thing ...... it's life, every second, every hour, every day. It's who & what you "always" are. If you don't believe in yourself, then you hide certain things about yourself. If being who you are isn't important enough to fight for, then my friend, you are dishonest & a liar. Maybe being a life-long lesbian has it's advantages ..... at least from a very early age I was able to reach deep inside which allowed me to know ME which resulted in being honest to myself as well as all others who I come in contact with me or who know about me. You see, as far as I'm concerned, hiding who & what you are merely shows shame. I've never been ashamed of ME when it came to who I really am. Take pride in yourself & defend your right to be who you ARE. I'm not talking about 'flaming' at all ..... just being honest. Too many people find that too hard to do.

NOW is the time to register to vote, if you haven't done that yet. Get involved with your local L/G/B/T organizations & find the intestinal fortitude to be more open about who & what you are!! To hell with what people think! One thing I do ask though is that you always show respect for others, especially your partner. No grabbing ass, or what ever, no passionate kisses, no flaunting your lifestyle with the 'in your face' attitude. I know many of 'us' don't like seeing that with str8 couples, so please make other L/G/B/T's proud to call you one of theirs. We can't get anywhere if we act like a$$holes! Leave that to the str8's .... so many of them do such a great job. *S* If you're still 'hiding' in that dark, dank closet,
& insist on staying there, you can still help by supporting your
local organizations. Every little bit helps! Do your part, please.
Just think of how If you don't know where to find your local chapters, try a search on the net. If you still come up empty, give me an email & ask. I'll do my best to help you. I will also have quite a few links to various organizations on my LINKS page. Remember to always do what you can & be proud of who you are. It's tough being 'out' but it's much better in the long run. There is strength in numbers, so .... GET INVOLVED!!!!!! Help to make it a bit easier for the younger people who will be facing the problems we have all faced during the tough times. You'll be glad you did. Others need to be educated on the simple fact that not everyone who's homosexual are like many they portray on the news media. Think about it ..... the media usually likes to broadcast those who are an embarrassment to many of us. It's time to show them the majority of us aren't low, self-esteem perverts shown on the 10 o'clock news when there's a Pride Parade in their location.
Vote for me in Top 100 Lesbian Homepages
I've put together a few links for you to check out. We need to fill out as many petitions as we can in order to TRY to get our government OUT OF OUR BEDROOMS and preserve EQUALITY FOR ALL!!! (links will open window in new page) DO YOUR PART IN MAKING OUR ELUSTRIOUS LEADER AWARE THAT AMMENDING THE CONSTITUTION WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!! If they ammend our Constitution for THIS, what else will be ammended in the future? Our freedoms are already being diminished with BushieBoy and Co. Ashcoft is a religious right-wing who doesn't think anything of US (we the people ......) when it comes to total control of the law abiding, tax paying citizens of this country.
The Human Rights Campaign President Bush has endorsed the discriminatory, anti-GLBT Federal Anti-Marriage Amendment. In doing so, he parts ways with a majority of Americans who do not believe we should write discrimination into the US Constitution. Amending the Constitution to discriminate against same-sex couples and families is shameful - and we need to make sure that our elected officials know it.
Congress.org Insert your ZIPcode and be taken to a page that will allow you to write your Congressperson today and urge him or her to oppose this mean-spirited measure.
People For the American Way Save Our Constitution "We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the adoption of an amendment to the Constitution that would require discrimination against any specific group of Americans. The Federal Marriage Amendment is a betrayal of the American principles of equality and fairness. We oppose the Federal Marriage Amendment."
